A Note About Browsers
A quick check of the site in various browsers resulted in this:
Firefox 3: No problems at all. Absolutely everything looks and functions as it should.
Safari 3: Also perfect.
Google Chrome: Perfect as well.
Opera 9.6: Minor issue with a couple borders. Unless you use several different browsers you won’t even notice the difference.
Internet Explorer 8 beta 2: Same problem as Opera plus the navigation menu hover doesn’t work. Again, unless you use multiple browsers, you won’t notice anything.
Internet Explorer 7: Originally there was an issue with IE7 not ignoring commented out CSS elements which was easily fixed. Unfortunately there also appears to be a problem with margins and padding. The only noticeable effect is a small bit of whitespace above the navigation menu. Since it doesn’t adversely affect the functioning of the site, the whitespace will go unfixed and will henceforth be named Larry.
(new) Internet Explorer 6: So I was able to find a lonely little computer stuffed away that had IE6 on it, and tested the site. Had the same problems as IE7 plus a few extra cosmetic oddities. Overall the site works well and looks mostly like it should. Guess that means I have to change my conditions for crying softly in the corner.
What this means is that anyone using the browsers mentioned shouldn’t have any problems on this site (hopefully). If you use any other browser and are having problems, please contact me. If you use an older version of any of the browsers mentioned go ahead and contact me, but consider upgrading also.
What browser you use is entirely your decision, but if you’re willing to test another browser, I recommend Firefox. In my “extremely scientific test of awesomeness” Firefox was fast, stable, light on resources, and has a nifty little feature called spell check. However, Opera (fast, nice set of features), Safari (fast), and Chrome (fast, fun user interface, sandboxed rendering) all have unique selling points as well and shouldn’t be overlooked. Why not try them all?
“But I use Internet Explorer [3-5] and refuse to upgrade or switch to a different browser!”
Well, I do know that you should at least be able to see the comic, which is the important part. Normally I would go over the reasons why you should upgrade, but I’m too busy crying softly in the corner.
